As you might have noticed, the about page of this site says that I’m now in Berlin, and I will for a year more or less as I’m trying to learn German, for what would be my fourth foreign language after English, French and Spanish. It’s hard to define what “tough” means in language learning, but… Read more »
Facebook Plus
A war is clearly brewing between Google and Facebook for the social network domination and is mainly fought with features and redesigns that are constantly added to their products. A few weeks ago Facebook sported a new layout to visualize photos, very similar to the photo viewer in Google Plus. Only four days ago Google+… Read more »
Meetings.io
Yesterday I discovered, through an article on TechCrunch, a new tool that allows video chat and videoconferencing up to 5 people: it’s called Meetings.io. Totally free, the product looks really awesome: it works right inside the browser using Flash and users don’t need to install any kind of software, extension or plugin and even register… Read more »
System folders
Renaming system folders in Mac OS X is actually pretty simple, the file SystemFolderLocalizations.strings located in System -> Library -> CoreServices -> SystemFolderLocalizations -> en.lproj contains a list of the main folders that can be found in the left sidebar of the Finder, like Applications, Library, Documents, Desktop, etc. Full path: /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemFolderLocalizations/en.lproj/SystemFolderLocalizations.strings Changing one of the strings with something different will take… Read more »
Duolingo

Duolingo is yet another project based on crowdsourcing, born from the mind of that genious of Luis Von Ahn. For those who… Read more »
Foursquare limit / 2
You already know that on Foursquare there are some limits. A limit 0f 500 outstanding friend requests that I previously mentioned, for example. A limit of 1000 brands that you can follow. And of course a limit of 1000 friends, which I hoped to reach fast. Well, here we are. I don’t know whether and… Read more »
Google Music Beta
A few weeks ago – over a month ago, actually – I received an invitation for Google Music Beta to try it out. It’s still, guess what, in beta and only accessible with an invite, and furthermore is a U.S. only service. In fact, only people in the United States can request an invitation, but… Read more »

I never write about football in this half-abandoned blog – and please Americans, do me a favour: stop calling it soccer, it’s football – but I’ve always been a big fan and yesterday A.C. Milan won the Italian premier football league (winning the “Scudetto”) for the 18th time in its history, so I thought it… Read more »
1000 Foursquare
Last week has been great for me and our beloved foursquare (yes, lowercase, as their crew usually writes it): on April 16 we celebrated foursquare day, lined as 4sqDay. Here in Paris the meeting was held at Place de Vosges – guess what, true squared - organized by the folks at Welovegeoloc. I took some photos of the… Read more »
iPad 2
Nothing revolutionary from the previous model, but Photo Booth and GarageBand will be killer apps for sure. Image courtesy of Apple
